About Sozopol
Sozopol is situated 34km south of Bourgas. It was founded in 6th Century BC by Greek settlers and was named after the Greek God Apollo. In the 4th Century BC Apolonia was named Sozopol (a town of salvation). Today it is a tourist centre with golden sandy beaches, numerous small tavernas and cafes, overlooking the beautiful bay. Sozopol is famous for its hospitality, narrow streets unique stone and wooden houses from the 19th Century, fig trees and lilac bushes. In winter Sozopol is mild. The summer is sunny and hot with temperatures reaching 30C.
